Read This Before You Order Take-Out :Coronavirus FACTS:

I've seen much chatter online about the safety of eating take-out during this pandemic. So, I decided to do some research.

According to the FDA, there is no evidence that suggests it would be unsafe to eat take-out food.

"Coronaviruses are generally thought to be spread from person-to-person through respiratory droplets. "

"Currently, there is no evidence to support the transmission of COVID-19 by food. Unlike foodborne gastrointestinal (GI) viruses like norovirus and hepatitis A that often make people ill through contaminated food, SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19, is a virus that causes respiratory illness"(FDA. gov).

Can a worker give me the virus (COVID-19)?
The CDC and FDA say there is no evidence that says you could get the virus since it is not transmitted in that way. ( Read Above)

Additional Info: A person has a chance of contracting the virus if they touch a surface that has the virus on it. They would then have to touch their nose, mouth, or eyes. This is not the main way that the virus is spread. The virus is spread through droplets.

So, is it safe to order take-out? The CDC and FDA say Yes!
